| Education | Jessica is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (Higher Education) at the University of Minnesota. Previously, she earned an M.A. in Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional Communication from Iowa State University and a B.A. in English from Hastings College. | |
| Experience | Jessica joined the Lindahl Academic Center as a Graduate Mentor in 2025. She brings extensive experience as a university instructor, having taught first-year writing, professional communication, and business writing courses at both the University of Minnesota and Iowa State University. Across these roles, she has supported hundreds of students in developing strong writing, critical thinking, and academic skills. In addition to teaching, Jessica has a background in research focused on higher-education policy, institutional communication, and student success. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and presented at national conferences. Her combined experience in mentoring, teaching, and research informs her student-centered approach to academic support. | |
| What you need to know about Jessica Trad | Originally from Illinois, Jessica is a former student-athlete who played basketball at Hastings College. She has lived in five states, which has shaped her appreciation for traveling and exploring new places. Outside of work, she enjoys music, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Jessica is committed to supporting students as they develop confidence and effective academic habits throughout their college experience. | |
