Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a service that allows you to connect to the University's network when you are not on campus. VPN is required to access many University of Minnesota resources when outside of the University's network. Most users should connect to “UofM Split” VPN network.

Zoom is an online video conferencing system. It features meeting and webinar capabilities, along with real-time messaging and content sharing.

Send messages, share photos, make phone calls, video chat, or host a meeting with one person or an entire group. Google Meet is accessible through Google Calendar as a video conferencing option; it is also available at meet.google.com.
Canvas is an online platform used by faculty and staff to provide learning materials and activities that may supplement a face-to-face or blended course, or deliver a fully online experience. Students or participants may use Canvas to access course material, submit assignments, take quizzes, view grades, and interact with classmates and instructors through online discussions and direct messaging. Canvas can also be accessed through MyU.
GradesFirst is an online tool used for scheduling and maintaining tutoring appointments for student-athletes. Important: When viewing your calendar in GradesFirst, make sure you check the timezone when viewing the calendar. Due to network irregularities, the timezone used when viewing your calendar may not be the same timezone where you are located.
